Next Step

Tomorrow after work I will be heading to Asheville, NC for a weekend photography class!

I am so excited, but at the same time a little nervous-I haven't been in school in a while. Funny huh, that the one thing I am worried about is the long day of learning.

But with that being said I love the topic and I am truly excited!! I am excited because hopefully I will be able to learn more about taking AMAZING photos!! Something I LOVE!!

I will be stopping by my best friend's house to take pictures of her AMAZING products!! I am so thrilled for her and the beginning of her journey!

I am also excited because after this packed weekend I am off on Monday! A day to spend consumed in my passion. Consumed in pictures and cards and websites and blogs and blog buttons (one of my goals for Monday).

So...here I go, another step in my journey-the next step to learn more!

I am so thankful for this knowledge, talent and opportunity!!

You Capture: Warmth

This is Dexter, spoiled Dexter I should say!

When the weather here in North Carolina was so cold and snowy we started "lighting" our gas fireplace.

Needless to say this was Dexter's favorite place to lay...mine too!

New Website

When my husband thought of my business name (Capture the View Photography)-I was thrilled! Finally a name that wasn't taken!! As I very ambitiously used it for everything-blog, facebook, e-mail, Big Cartel site----it felt longer and longer! Did we have to pick the longest name in the world? LOL :)

Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE IT! But when recent searches for a new stamp ended in no success due to the number of letters in my business name/website----I had to make a change, but I am NOT changing my business name, only my Big Cartel website name. And not really changing my name, just taking off the word "photography" out of the website name.

Finally....

I was born in a small town of North Carolina and I grew up loving all things creative and even for a short period of time majored in Art Education, but due to my lack of talent in the field of drawing-moved on to Finance…yes Finance-the least creative field out there. I moved to Charlotte after college and continued my career in banking-which I had started straight out of high school, but always aspired to do something else, something more creative and fun!

In 2010 before a vacation to Niagara Falls I purchased a Digital SLR by Sony. While in Niagara Falls I loved capturing the views of all the places we visited, and these places were magnificent! When we returned my pictures turned out so much better than I had ever dreamed and Bam! (as Emeril would say) I was hooked! Everyone that saw my pictures told me I should do something with them, share them with others…and here I am.

            My goal is to capture the view of the places that I visit and share my perspective through greeting cards, prints and posters. My goal with the greeting cards is to bring back the art of using “snail mail” to send friends and loved ones cards rather than just posting on their wall or sending an e-mail whether it is for a special occasion or just because!

            I hope that you will join me on this endeavor and I hope that you love my pictures as much as I do!
